What this is
Search for Duel Masters in English and you will find a game that ended in 2006.
It did not. It is in its twenty-fourth year, it is one of the three largest card games in Japan, and a community-maintained English patch keeps pace with every new set. The English-speaking players are real — there are 3,768 of them in one Discord server, talking at two in the morning. In Japan, 3,500 people are about to sit down in a hall in Chiba to play the digital version.
None of that is searchable. Discord is not indexed, the one English tier list is empty, and the wiki's metagame page stopped updating in 2022. So a person who gets curious finds a graveyard and leaves. This site exists to be the thing they find instead.

- Fire/Water/Dark Dragerion held
This block is refreshed whenever the Japanese list moves, which is usually a couple of times a week — check the date above it rather than the one in the masthead. Four of five climbed this time. Dragerion is the only deck that held, which makes it the most settled of the group. Lionel anchors three different strategies across two tiers, which usually means one card is defining the format. Placements are Kamigame's editorial judgement, not computed win rates, and the set is two weeks old — their own page warns against spending crafting resources on a list this early.
Reading deck names
- 光 Light
- 水 Water
- 闇 Darkness
- 火 Fire
- 自然 Nature
- 零 Zero
Deck names are built from civilizations plus the key card, so 火光レイド decomposes into Fire, Light, and the card name. Learn six characters and Japanese decklists stop being opaque. 単 means mono-, as in 火単 — mono-Fire.
The English-speaking community, measured
The gap between the third number and the first is the whole problem. Roughly twenty-five thousand English speakers know this franchise exists; fewer than four thousand know it is still running; and almost none of them know a complete English patch has already been built. Numbers collected 10 August 2026.
